As many as three English Premier League clubs have expressed their interest in signing Zeki Celik from French Ligue 1 Champions Lille this summer. The brilliant right-back helped the French club maintain their exceptional form this season as they unexpectedly emerged as the league champions, displacing Paris Saint-Germain in the process. He has now caught the eye of a couple of clubs across Europe, including in England where numerous clubs have already started showing interest in signing him this summer.
Manchester United are currently in the hunt for a new right-back who will come into the club and provide stiff competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as they wish to improve the England international defender’s game. Arsenal, on the other hand, are resigned to losing Hector Bellerin this summer after the Spanish defender made it clear that he wants to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
They have now identified Celik as the perfect replacement for Bellerin and are expected to be the first club to make an official bid for the defender. Tottenham are also in the race and are targeting a replacement for Serge Aurier who has given a hint that he could be set to depart the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in the summer.
It’s unclear where Celik will be playing next season but he could be a Premier League player as early as this summer transfer window.
